False Lashes

I have to admit.  I'm probably one of the few MUAs who prefers good mascara over lashes.  Lashes are fun and can definitely add that extra "pow" to a look, but I don't feel like they are needed all of the time.  Lately, I'm seeing lash overkill.  This is especially true when I see ladies wearing false lashes without any other make-up.  Why would you do this?  What sense does this make?  At least put on some liner and a shadow!!  But hey, who am I to judge these women.  If they like it, then it must be working for them.  Well with all of this being said, here are some of my favorite lashes that I've purchased.  My all time favorite lashes are #7 by MAC.  My 2nd favorite would be #3 by MAC.  My 3rd favorite is the #110 by Ardell.  See below:

New Mascara

I've heard so much about Loreal's Voluminous Mascara. I bought the Voluminous waterproof in Carbon for my make-up kit last month. My clients like it a lot. I went back to Kroger's grocery store (my new favorite cosmetic place LOL!) and they had most of the mascaras on sale. I decided to try the Voluminous Million Mascara.

I like it a lot. It reminds me of M.A.C. Studio Fix Mascara but more dramatic. I like rubber brushes because they separate my lashes a lot better than traditional brushes. This was on sale for around $7. I may go back and get another tube before the sale ends. :-D

I found out about this product from MUA Warren Beautiful. I'm extremely oily. I've yet to find that perfect product. I plan on trying this out soon.

1st Tarte Products

I've seen Tarte at Sephora and I've heard a few people on YouTube talk about it but I've never used it before.  My mommy bought some products from either QVC or HSN and gave them to me.  I can't wait to use them and review them.  Here's what she bought below.

Orange Smokey Eye with Coastal Scents Smokey Palette Pt.2

I'm determined to make this orange smokey eye work.  I tried it again but I used M.A.C. Fascinating Eye Kohl pencil instead of M.A.C. Paint Pot.  Honestly, I forgot that I had it.  I very seldom use it.  I was watching YouTube videos and almost everyone was talking about NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.  I figured, Fascinating can't be much different, both are white eye pencils right???

This looks works well with glasses :P

I definitely got a better pay off with using a white base instead of a golden coral base.  All of the colors stand out more and I didn't have to use as much.  I'll remember this from now on.  Unfortunately, I still  didn't get the orange I was hoping for, but it's prettier than the first attempt.  I feel as though this orange looks more like a dark gold.

I still plan to get NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk one day.  I just don't feel like I NEED it right now. I also have M.A.C. Chroma line in white.  I'm sure this would work even better because it's creamier than the pencil.  I forgot about having that too.

I'm quite pleased with this Coastal Scents Smokey Palette.  Especially since I purchased it during a 25% off sale last month.  #winning

Orange Smokey Eye with Coastal Scents Smokey Palette Pt.1

This was my look for the day using the Smokey Palette I purchased a couple of weeks ago from www.coastalscents.com.

Overall, I like the palette.  It has really pretty colors with pretty good pay off and pigmentation.  Unfortunately, the orange didn't work well on me.  I had to work really hard to get it to show.  I used M.A.C. Rubenesque paint pot as as base for my shadow hoping it would help bring out the orange since it's a pretty golden-coral color.  This was not the case.  In it's defense, because of my "in-between" skin color, I've never been able to easily pull off oranges, yellows, golds, and most browns.  :-(
