Orange Smokey Eye with Coastal Scents Smokey Palette Pt.2

I'm determined to make this orange smokey eye work.  I tried it again but I used M.A.C. Fascinating Eye Kohl pencil instead of M.A.C. Paint Pot.  Honestly, I forgot that I had it.  I very seldom use it.  I was watching YouTube videos and almost everyone was talking about NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.  I figured, Fascinating can't be much different, both are white eye pencils right???

This looks works well with glasses :P

I definitely got a better pay off with using a white base instead of a golden coral base.  All of the colors stand out more and I didn't have to use as much.  I'll remember this from now on.  Unfortunately, I still  didn't get the orange I was hoping for, but it's prettier than the first attempt.  I feel as though this orange looks more like a dark gold.

I still plan to get NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk one day.  I just don't feel like I NEED it right now. I also have M.A.C. Chroma line in white.  I'm sure this would work even better because it's creamier than the pencil.  I forgot about having that too.

I'm quite pleased with this Coastal Scents Smokey Palette.  Especially since I purchased it during a 25% off sale last month.  #winning

Orange Smokey Eye with Coastal Scents Smokey Palette Pt.1

This was my look for the day using the Smokey Palette I purchased a couple of weeks ago from www.coastalscents.com.

Overall, I like the palette.  It has really pretty colors with pretty good pay off and pigmentation.  Unfortunately, the orange didn't work well on me.  I had to work really hard to get it to show.  I used M.A.C. Rubenesque paint pot as as base for my shadow hoping it would help bring out the orange since it's a pretty golden-coral color.  This was not the case.  In it's defense, because of my "in-between" skin color, I've never been able to easily pull off oranges, yellows, golds, and most browns.  :-(
